June W. Martin, 86, of Franklin, NC, passed away Monday, June 22, 2020. She was born May 27, 1934 in Edgecombe Co., NC to the late LaFayette and Nora Kemple Williamson. Mrs. Martin was a retired school teacher and was a member of Franklin First Baptist Church. She gave her time and love and was involved in an after school program at First Baptist Church. She loved gardening, outdoors, and crossword puzzles. She also loved music and played the piano.
Survivors include her husband of 65 years, Marshall Glenn Martin; daughters, Wendy Seys of Franklin, NC and Glynis Dills (Keith) of Lenoir, NC; grandchildren, Brittany Dills Reese and Holly Dills; one great-grandchild, Brecken Reese; brother, I. K. Williamson of Goldsboro, NC and a nephew, Darius Rose (Theressa) of Smithfield, NC and many nieces and nephews.
A funeral service will be held Thursday, June 25, 2020 at 2:00 pm at First Baptist Church, with Rev. Robert Brown officiating. Burial will be in Woodlawn Cemetery. The family will receive friends from 1:00 to 2:00 pm Thursday prior to the service at the church.
