Louise Guffey Vanhook, 90, of Franklin passed away Wednesday, August 12, 2020. Louise was born September 30, 1929 in Macon County, NC to the late Norman Guffey and Dlena Mashburn Guffey. Mrs. Vanhook was a loving wife, mother, grandmother and great-grandmother. In her early years, Louise was very involved in the homemakers club, she always grew a garden, and she was a very good cook. Mrs. Vanhook was a member of Clark's Chapel United Methodist Church.
In addition to her parents, Louise was preceded in death by her husband Ray Vanhook who passed away in 2005 and two sisters, Frances Brown Phillips and Betty Ann Bowen.
Survivors include two sons, Michael Vanhook (Evelyn) of Franklin and Tommy Vanhook (Deborah) of Mars Hill, NC; three daughters, Nancy Vanhook of Franklin, NC, Sharon Morrissey (Tim) of Richmond, Va. and Beverly Anderson (Ted) of Scaly Mountain, NC; Seven grandchildren; eight great-grandchildren; and a brother John Guffey of Thomasville, NC.
A graveside service for the family will be held at 1:00 pm Sunday, August 16, 2020 in the Clark's Chapel United Methodist Church Cemetery with the Rev. Janet Green officiating.
