Martha "Marty" Lou Hubinek

Martha “Marty” Lou Hubinek, 75, of Durham, North Carolina went to be with her Lord and Saviour on Tuesday, June 20, 2023 at home with her family by her side. She was born on November 7, 1947 to the late Ellis “Tige” and Maggie Hodgins. In addition to her parents she was preceded in death by her influential grandparents, Isaac and Martha C. Keener, brothers, Donnie and Danny and sister, Nola. Born in her grandparents home in Highlands, NC, Marty spent her first thirteen years establishing her Christian Faith and Love for the Lord at Gold Mine Baptist Church. Finally settling in Durham, she and Brad began attending Grove Park Chapel. Marty regularly attended Bible Studies wherever she and Brad lived and faithfully enjoyed reading God’s word. She truly tried to live by the teaching of her Lord. Marty enjoyed gardening and was the neighborhood go-to for any guidance or ideas for their yard. She also enjoyed bird watching, walking and tennis. Marty was a true homemaker, creating a loving, caring, confident and compassionate household. She will be remembered as a strong woman with a strong faith in God, who touched many lives and was a loving wife, mother, grandmother and friend. Marty will truly be missed by everyone blessed to have known her. Marty is survived by her loving husband of 51 years, Bradley E. Hubinek; daughter, Kelly Hubinek Hartwell (Martin); son, Bradley R. Hubinek (Carrie); sister, Jacque Fiore and son Jason; grandchildren, Kayla Lechich (Anthony), Hollis Hubinek and Brooks Hubinek; brother-in-law, Bob Hubinek; cousin, Janet Allgood (Ed); and childhood best friend, Linda Dendy McCall and other loving family members and friends. A graveside Memorial Service will be held on Saturday, July 22, 2023 at 11:00 A.M. in Highlands, NC by Pastor Gary McDaniel at the Gold Mine Baptist Church Mount Moriah Cemetery In lieu of flowers donations may be made in Marty’s name to Gold Mine Baptist Church, c/o Mary Lee Simmons, 3051 Dendy Orchard Rd., Highlands, NC 28741 or Mt.
