Norma Jean (Estes) Platt

Mrs. Norma Jean Estes Platt, age 53, of DeFuniak Springs, Florida passed away January 6, 2023. She was born on December 31, 1969 in St. Cloud, Florida to Cecil Eugene Estes and Laura Nelle Thompkins.

Mrs. Platt grew up in Franklin, North Carolina. She was a veteran of the Armed Forces, serving her country in the United States Navy. She earned two Masters degrees and worked for thirty years as a nursing professional, serving as Director of Critical Care at Twin Cities Hospital in Niceville, Florida. She was also a Florida Cattle Rancher.

Mrs. Platt is survived by her husband, Ronald R. Platt; children, Brooke Cole of Cayce, South Carolina, Neil Cole of Sylva, North Carolina; two step-daughters, Katelin Platt of DeFuniak Springs, Florida and Sierra McDaniel (and husband Michael) of DeFuniak Springs, Florida; her father Gene Estes of Franklin, North Carolina; her mother Laura Nelle Goebel of DeFuniak Springs, Florida; brother Garry Estes (and wife Judy) of Franklin, North Carolina; sisters Marcia Jones (and husband Tim) of Sylva, North Carolina and Dola McConnell (and husband Junior) of Franklin, North Carolina.

Memorialization will be by cremation.
