Sandra Cora (Hillard) Whitman

Sandra Cora Hilliard Whitman was born on April 8, 1939, to Lewis and Edith Hilliard in the small community of Chassahowitzka, Florida. She passed from this life on November 21, 2024. She was preceded in death by her parents, her husband and high school sweetheart, Richard Whitman to whom she was married for 63 years and her daughter, Tracy Whitman. She is survived by her sons, Mark Whitman and Daniel Whitman as well as her brother, Bill Hilliard.

She loved the Lord, her family and her church family. She sang in her church choir and taught ladies Sunday school. She lived a life of adventure as Richard had a career in the Army and they moved frequently to new stations. She loved to read and usually had a book going. She loved working amongst her flowers and always had a beautiful yard. She worked as an industrial lab technician and after she retired, she had more time to devote to reading, working with her flowers and found she also enjoyed hiking in the mountains. She and a small group of friends formed their own little hiking club, Ladies of the Wood. She said that she felt her greatest accomplishment was her children and that her best friend was her daughter.

A graveside service will be held 11:00 AM Monday, November 25, 2024, at Evergreen Cemetery in Bushnell, Fl. The family will greet friends following the service.
