Vernon Ross “Josh” Wilson, age 89, of Belton, SC, devoted husband of Pat Setser Wilson for 60 years, died Friday, March 24, 2023, at his residence.
Born in Highlands, NC, he was the son of the late Helen Cabe Wright Wilson and Samuel Andrew Wilson. He was a member of Latimer Memorial United Methodist Church and was retired from Wright Lumber Company and Canal Paper Company.
He was a graduate of Highlands High School and North Georgia Trade School. He served his country in the United States Army during the Korea War Era.
In addition to his loving wife, he is survived by his daughter, Joshlyn Wilson Collins (David) of Ninety Six, SC; grandson, Tyler Andrew “The Rascal” Neal of Ninety Six, SC; two great-grandchildren, Sawyer and Kohen; and several nieces and nephews.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his siblings, Harry Wright, Grace Watson, Chester Wright, Barak Wright, and Maxie Duke.
The family will receive friends Wednesday, March 29, 2023, from 10:00 a.m. until 10:45 a.m. at The McDougald Funeral Home. The funeral service will follow visitation in the Chapel at 11:00 a.m. with Rev. Dan Fortney and Rev. Andy Bullions officiating. A committal service will follow at 3:30 p.m. at Highlands Cemetery in Highlands, NC, with Rev. Roy Lowe officiating.
