Walter Lee Ramey

Walter Lee Ramey, 69 of Rabun Gap, Ga. passed away Friday August 18, 2023.   

Mr. Ramey was preceded in death by his parents, Lloyd Wood Ramey and Maxine Teague Ramey.

Born August 20,1953 in Rabun County, Georgia and was a graduate of Rabun Gap Nacoochee School where he excelled in all sports.  He loved to deer hunt and enjoyed going to the hunting club each year. He loved the outdoors and especially loved mowing yards as he did for many people.

During his life, Mr. Ramey was always happy and a joy to be around.  He brought happiness and joy to each one he met.   He was a member of Mountain City Church of God where he played the guitar and sang.  He retired from Reeves Hardware in January of this year.  

He had a special saying for his loving wife Patricia, "Love you all over more than anywhere else".

Mr. Ramey is survived by his wife Patricia, daughter Michelle Bell of Atlanta, Ga. and sons Michael Ramey of Franklin, N. C., Anthony Lujan of Franklin, N. C.  He is also survived by a brother Gary Ramey of Murphy, N. C.

Also, he is survived by grandchildren Austin Brugman (Hannah), Caden Bell (Savannah), Trevor Lujan and great-grandchildren Kari Brugman and Salem Brugman.

Funeral services will be held Tuesday August 22, 2023 at Prentiss Church at 12:00 o'clock.  Visitation will be at the church from 11:00 o'clock until 12:00 o'clock.  Burial will be in the Wright cemetery.  Rev. Don Moffitt and Rev. Len Pirkle officiating.

Pallbearers are Jimmy Hunter, Norman Dryman, Anthony Lujan, Tatum Talley, Gary Bennett, Roddy Hughes Jasper Ramey, Westin Ramey, Treavor Lujan.
