Tribute to Kay Smith
A beautiful as Kay was growing up when I knew her in high school, her friendliness and out going personality shown even brighter. She was truly a star among her classmates at our mutual
Grady High School.
I had the pleasure of knowing her husband, Tom, since we started our friendship in Kindergarten together at S. M. Inman grammar school and finished up Graduating Grady High School in the same class.
Tom was looked up to as a special person because he was able to
attract one of the prettiest girls in the school, Kay Happoldt, as his girl friend. He was the envy of his friends.
In latter years. I saw Kay and Tom very rarely, but kept up with their activities through mutual classmates, mutual friends such as Louie Shamaria, their son Ken and his beautiful wife who is the daughter of one of my Lake Blue Ridge friends, the Joe Lingles where we have a second.home.@
The sadness of the loss of someone so wonderful and strong as Kay is only made a little easier as one looks back on such a productive life she shared with so many. There is a saying that “when a loved one is lost, as inspiring as Kay, a wound is created that never heals; but the love for her will create memories that no one can steal.” I know with the love that is shared by so many family and friends that Kay’s memory will always be here. May her life serve as a blessing to all who knew her.
Your friend,
Billy Silver
